Yoga is an ancient Indian discipline that incorporates postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation, chanting and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation), to calm the mind and look after the body.

Yoga for real life

I practice and teach a type of real life yoga that was brought to the west by T. K. V. Desikachar.

My yoga emphasises:

That your practice should be based on the qualites of ease and comfort

That your practice should emphasise the spine

That asana practice should be adapted to meet your purpose

That your asana practice should use orderly intelligent steps to reach your goals

That your breath integrates your body and mind

That the breath is used to adapt postures

That your breath provides valuable feedback in your practice

This is a gentle, real life style of yoga that is good for beginners and those who wish to pursue a practice that is accessable, whatever your ability.
